Phil Wood cassette hub ratchet mechanism failure:

Failure noticed due to occasional "locking" of ratchet mechanism.

Used on a tandem. Usual bike + riders + gear over 160 kgf, used for daily commuting, mostly flat, some standing in high gears (low cadance). Occasional riding with over 200 kgf. Occasional hilly riding with strong riders. Low gear 28/34. Total hub usage about 6500 km.

Maker-repaired hub fails again. Noises after as little as 20km; opened and examined at about 550km. Some ratchet teeth fractured, not as severely as before.
