From http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/ive-broken-4-frames-in-13-months-recommend-me-a-29er-hardtail as of 2012/08.

Rider is about 95 kgf and rides off-road, mostly seated, does not do jump. Frame is 11 months old, milage unknown but probably about 2,500 km.

This is the rider's 4th failed frame, though the nature of earlier failures is not described.

Lack of seatpost insertion or a small seatpost in a large frame sometimes cause frame failures. This post had 140 mm insertion and was slightly difficult to remove, not loose.

The preceding frame was a Gary Fisher, but the rider was not the original owner, so it is unclear what damage may have occured in earlier riding.
